The Music of Richard Marx: 1987–2009
The Music Of Richard Marx: 1987-2009 is a multi-disc promotional compilation album of Richard Marx released by Chrysalis Music Group (which is strange, seeing that he never recorded for Chrysalis). This is Marx's seventh overall compilation album, but his first multi-disc compilation. It includes most of his singles from 1987 through 1997, some albums cuts from 1996 through 2004, four acoustic versions of some older songs, and a new version of "You Never Take Me Dancing." There was no personal dedication on this album.

Notes
- The compilation seems to be sequenced in chronological order, as disc one begins with his earliest hits on his debut for EMI Manhattan Records.
- The songs "Shine", "Almost Everything" & "Straight from My Heart" (as well as "One More Time") are taken from his album Days in Avalon, which was not released by any EMI-affiliated label, or any major label, for that matter (it was released by Signal 21-the joint venture between Marx and drummer Bobby Colomby).
